Our People
Kathleen Conlon Hinge, Director, founded Yoga Shivaya with the philosophy that growth and flexibility happen only with compassionate acceptance of our bodies as they are. What's more, by practicing compassion for ourselves, we bring healing and peace into the world. She has been practicing yoga for 10 years and teaching for 5. Kathleen is a Kripalu Yoga Instructor certified at the 500-hour level . She is also a Reiki Master.
Juliana Santos-Kraus holds a master's degree in physical education. She is a Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher, certified Pilates instructor and a personal trainer, having completed her personal trainer course at NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine). She is also certified in restorative yoga, pre-natal yoga and yoga therapy. She has been teaching in Westchester and NYC for the last 15 years.
Kristine is a 200 hour certified yoga instructor from OM YOGA Center, in NYC. After studying and taking Yoga classes and workshops for 8 years she decided to get certified and share her experience. Her style of yoga is Vinyasa Flow with many “ dancery” supplements, as well as a strong focus on body alignment and breath work through out practice. All classes incorporate a Dharma talk as well as a meditation piece either in the beginning or end of class. Expect to feel a full mind / body connection as well as strengthen your core, elongate your muscle mass and increase flexibility.
Lisa Argento is a 200 hour certified Kripalu Yoga instructor, and has practiced yoga for more than a decade. In her years of practice, she has explored and studied many different yoga traditions and styles, including Anusara, Ashtanga, Kundalini, ISHTA, Yin and Vinyasa flow, and has been blessed to practice in India. Lisa's goal as an instructor is to share the beauty and benefits of yoga as a way to enhance the flexibility, strength and balance of students. Lisa incorporates music and a measure of yogic philosophy into every class, and is honored to be able to share her passion for yoga with others.
